Hello! My name is Colsie Froerer (pronounced Coal-see F-roar). I grew up in Eastern Oregon on a large family farm. I've recently just moved to Utah and I'm excited for this new adventure teaching at Ascent! I received a Bachelors of Elementary Education with a concentration in English from Brigham Young University of Idaho. When I first started out in my education I went 5 semesters (2.5 years!) into business before I realized sitting at a desk and working numbers all day was not the career for me. I decided to switch my major to Education because working with kids and watching them experience that "ah-ha" moment is truly my passion. This is my first year teaching and I am excited to be teaching 2nd grade! I love this age group and how they are starting to gain their own independence.
I had a great opportunity to live in Argentina for a year and a half so I speak Spanish, though sometimes I still struggle with it! I enjoy traveling and have had many opportunities to travel around the world. I like all kinds of sports, especially snow sports. In the winter I spend most of my time skiing on the weekends and in the summer I spend most of my time wake boarding. I also enjoy dirt biking, hiking and anything outside. I am looking forward to this coming year at Ascent as we learn and grow together!
