Hello, my name is Michael Griffin and this will be my sixth year in education. I am from Michigan and did my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University. I received two degrees, one in Communication and one in Spanish. I started out working in hotel management but quickly realized it wasn't for me and found myself teaching elementary students in Bogota, Colombia (long story). I loved it so much that I stayed for two years, and decided to make teaching my profession. I taught for a year in Beijing, China before returning to the US to pursue my Masters in education and teach the youth of Utah.
Thanks to my world travels I do speak Spanish (well) and Mandarin (not well), and I can bring my knowledge of a variety of cultures to the classroom. I love basketball, staying healthy, writing, movies, video games, and of course travel. Ultimately though, nothing gives me more pride than being a role model for children and watching them grow and reach their potential. I'm passionate in my mission to be a positive influence and to connect with students, and I can't wait to start the year.
