It is not ONLY the destination, but it is the JOURNEY along the way that makes you WHO you are and WHAT you BECOME.
My educational background has been quite an extraordinary journey, and still continues to take me to unfamiliar places. Upon graduating from high school with honors, I attended Westminster College . Within four years I graduated with a 3.8 GPA with a degree in Elementary Education and English. I have been teaching ever since. Even after teaching for thirteen years, my enthusiasm for teaching and learning only continues to grow. My classroom experience has been in grades three through eight, ten years of which have been in upper elementary grades.
Recently, I obtained a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, which enabled me to have an extraordinary opportunity to work as an administrator at a local charter school. As a teacher and/or as an administrator, my ultimate goal is to have a positive impact on as many students as possible. My high expectations and dedication to achievement for all students aligns perfectly with Ascent Academy's mission and vision. My passion for teaching runs deep. Learning is not only a fragment of my profession, but a hobby that I revisit often. Ever since I can remember I have been obsessed with learning. I still seek to satisfy my curiosity, and love for learning. Sharing my thirst for knowledge is rewarding on so many levels. Today, we are fortunate to have technology at our fingertips enabling us to access even more information and knowledge with ease than ever before!
On a more personal note, I was raised with a family of all girls. As an adult, I have a family of my own that consists of all boys. I enjoy my family, and often find myself tagging along with the boys to go camping, fishing, hiking, and several other outdoor activities
