Ashlee Pendleton

Sixth Grade

I graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in History with minors in Art History and Geography. I am also working on getting my MA of Education from the University of Utah, as well as my ESL endorsement. I have worked at several elementary schools, but I am excited to make Ascent Academy my new home.

I have a great love of the outdoors and spend as much time outside as possible. I enjoy sitting outside and reading. I love to read and will typically always have a book on me, especially if I am hiking or camping. I love traveling with my family and taking my 6 year old daughter to new places. I love the different communities and cultures that exist around the world and I try to bring those cultures and ideals into my classroom. I love talking about how diverse people are and how everyone brings something unique and amazing to our classroom.

I am a firm believer in a personalized education so I try to implement that in my classroom. All students are at different levels and learn in different ways so it is important to teach with that in mind. I love getting to know my students and how they like to learn new things. We do a lot of collaborative learning and help each other whenever we can. I want to see all of my students learn and grow and celebrate their successes.

I was born and raised in Utah and love it here! I am the youngest of 3 siblings. My oldest brother owns a campground in Moab, so we spend a lot of time down there. My other brother is a doctor in Arizona so we try to get down there at least once a year. I have 6 nieces and nephews with a niece on the way. My daughter, Lillee, starts 1st grade this year. We have two dogs, a Chiweenie named Dobby, and a Dachshund name Luna. We love Harry Potter so my classroom is Harry Potter themed. By the end of the year, I hope all my students develop a love for Harry Potter or at least an increased love of reading and learning.
