Hello! My name is Jamie Boyd, and I have been a part of the Ascent team for quite a few years now and love it! I graduated from Utah State University (Go Aggies!) with my bachelors in Elementary Education with an individual emphasis in American Sign Language and Deaf Education. I absolutely love teaching at Ascent because there are so many amazing things that we explore and learn. I love learning, and have known pretty much my entire life I wanted to be a teacher (there was a small break in second grade when I was sure I would be a zoo keeper). There is evidence of my lifelong dream on my childhood bedroom door where I hung up classroom posters I made from playing school all the time! I hope to instill a love of learning in each of my students, and make a positive impact in my students' lives.

I have lived in Utah my entire life and love it here! I cannot imagine living anywhere else, though I do love to travel and hope to do more of it. I love to go camping and my favorite place in the world is Bear Lake. I am married to my best friend Cameron, and we love going exploring together. I have a handsome baby boy named Jack who is just a dream come true. I love sports, both playing and watching (but particularly watching the Denver Broncos and LA Dodgers). I love crafting and doing anything with my hands such as sewing, making art projects, or creating something new. I enjoy reading and have read entire novels in a few hours on multiple occasions. I love finding a comfortable spot, and just reading all day. I love trying new things, and exploring new hobbies. I hope to continue to learn and grow over this next school year!
